WLCU BC Council Educational Scholarship

The WLCU BC Council educational scholarship is an avenue through which the WLCU BC Council would like to promote the continued education and professionalism of students of Lebanese origin in Canada. This program is designed to offer a $1,000.00 scholarship to students interested in pursing a career in the field of their choosing. The scholarship will be awarded once a year to the applicant who meets the following criteria:

 1. The applicant must be of Lebanese origin and be a Canadian citizen residing in British Columbia.

 2. Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited college, technical institute, professional institute, or university in Canada.

 3. The applicant’s course of study must lead towards a recognized degree or diploma. The course of study must provide at least 3 credits towards the recognized degree or diploma.

 4. Applicant must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0.

 5. Applicant or applicant’s family must have been a member in good standing with the WLCU BC Council for a minimum of two years.

 6. Applicant must submit a completed application, two letters of recommendation, proof of enrollment and major course of study, and an official transcript with GPA by the end of January of each year.

 7. Where more than one application is received, and all applicants meet criteria 1 to 6, the applicant with the highest GPA will be awarded the $1,000.00 WLCU BC Council Educational Scholarship. If two applicants have the same highest GPA, the amount will be split amongst the two candidates.
